Hello everyone, it's that time again and we are ready to get things started. If you are planning on cooking can you please go ahead and get your entry forms and your money sent in. Again this year we will have fried fish for sell that Friday night, with the Calcutta following the cooks meeting at 6:00 P.M. This year will be no different, we will have a good time, good food, and good friends to spend the weekend with. Don't miss out. If you want an RV site you must call Lamar Dixon (225)621-1700. Thanks

Sean - I don't know how many Texas teams have advised you that they are coming but I have talked to a few that are planning on making the trip

Maybe you should go to D'Iberville next week and pass out some flyers - maybe pick up some MS teams.

Good Luck with the event

It has been proposed that we have a meeting of the LA pit at the Gonzales contest - since many pit members have mentioned that they would be there. There are some concerns (particular to LA) that I think it would be a good idea to discuss. How about we get together for this before the cooks' meeting? I know afterward everyone's busy with prep work, I believe that's when they typically do the Calcutta for this contest, and then there are the "typical Friday-night-at-a-contest activities"...

Comments, anyone?

I think that sounds good , I think about 5:00 would be fine if everyone agrees. Also maybe as the cooks show up at five or so we can go ahead and issue box's, that way we can help speed things up. Right now we have 35 teams signed up , that is not including about 5 or 6 teams that we know of hear in town that have not signed up yet. So I think by doing this will definitely move things along. This will be a great contest ! The weather looks fine as well. Had a great time at the contest this weekend in Mississippi. Everything went great , looking forward to it again next year. Congratulations Tee Wayne.

Sorry for putting this off so long after the contest. Wanted to thank BBQ Brisket company again this year, Mr. Dennis and Mr. Doug for help us raise money for the kids. They gave us $12,000.00 dollars this year if you know them tell them thanks for helping the kids at St. Jude (It's all about those babies).
Again wanted to thanks Doug Ritter for helping us at the Calcutta. We raised around $3,600.00 dollars that night. A big thanks again to Mr. Ritter. Over all things went really well, and just like last year we will improve it for next year. I do not mind suggestions or comments so if you have some please feel free to contact me. We did have the biggest State Championship in Louisiana. Thanks to all the help , and the cooks that made it possible. See ya next year
