How do you become a judge? is there a class to take or that sort of thing?

It depends on if you are wanting to be a taste judge or someone that would oversee the judging area.
In Texas we don't certify taste judges - we like to use "Joe Public" as judges.
To become a Certified Judge to oversee the judging area at an event - you must work several events to learn the ropes before we would assign you to an event and then there to back you up on the first one to see how you do and then if we feel that you are ready to take on an event by yourself then we let you go out and do some events.
