Roastin' with Rosie - Jennings, LA - September 10-11 2010

It's time for some great food and great hospitality - come join us in Jennings, LA for this year's Roastin' with Rosie BBQ cookoff on September 10-11! Just talked with the promoters, Joy and Ralph Huval  - there's already about a dozen teams signed up for the contest, and plenty of room for more. The site is the same as the past few years(Grand Marais Courtyard in Jennings, just off I-10), tho they've managed to acquire a little more room for cookers. Time for an update -  as of this date, there are over 20 teams signed up, with several more who have called to say they'll be there but their applications haven't come in as yet! I just heard from the promoter that they'll be accepting entries up to the day of the contest.

Finally it didn't rain at all this year - and there was no hurricane in the Gulf to make everyone nervous - but BOY was it HOT! Thank goodness the judging was held indoors in the A/C in a ballroom! We didn't have a problem getting judges (most if not all of them had already made arrangements to be there!)! That town really LOVES its festivals! Kudos to Joy and Ralph Huval on a contest well done!

Congratulations to Reserve Grand Champion Brian Lipps of Smokin' Lipps and Grand Champion Dennis May of Smokin' in the Dark!!
