I have been approached by a new Promoter wanting to possibly furnish all meats for competition.
Please vote if you would like this or would prefer to furnish your own competition meat.
Possibly cook the furnished meat to be sampled out to visitors at the event.

Purchasing a Health Permit would be required by Promoter would reimburse with a gift card

Please let me know what your thoughts are on this subject - we will be watching the poll for the next couple of weeks to make a decision.

How will you be assured that everyone at the comp will use that specific meat, provided by the promoter, specially if the cook dosen't like it.  blindfold
I like to pick and choose my comp meats and sometimes have to go to several stores to get what I like.
I'm not sure I would be happy unless I could look at it and pick out what I want and even then?Huh?
I usually avoid those deals where the promoter wants you to feed the public, if they provide the meat or not. I have enough to do trying to get my stuff preped, cooked and turned in without having to entertain the public at the same time.
just my 2cents worth.

I have cooked two little contest with this kind of deal, it was not good?  all the meat was sub-standard for what I would use for a contest
the ribs showed up frozen and 13hrs late (left us with two hours) to cook
I am not saying that this would be the case, for this deal.  but the person in charge of the meat need's to be schooled or a comp cook and then they wanted us to cook extra and supply to their sells tent . they had entry fee plus all kinds of fees  tent/elec/cleaning  it was just not a good deal for the cook and the judging Sucked
Promoter?s  wife, city official, what looked like a homeless guy?
