Well it was a great start in Miss. but now it's time to get ready for our St jude event. All we will be having this year is the bbq contest there will not be a band or car show. We still will have a great time with friends and family raising money for the kids at St. Jude. If anyone wants an RV site you must call Lamar Dixon (225) 621-1700 ask for Mrs. Flow. If you do not have an RV site you will be under BARN 6 and it does have water and electric yes but maybe bring an extra hose and extension cord. I would like for teams too go ahead and get your entry forms in this week with you money so we can have a good count by the first of next week. Thanks to everyone who supports us and the IBCA and good luck to everyone for the rest of this cooking season. Thanks

We are planning on having a short meeting of the LA Pit before the "regular" cooks' meeting for this contest - likely in the same place, just to get us all on the same page!

P.S. Sean says we've got 30 teams as of 3/4/2011; if you haven't entered yet (or at least told him you'll be there), PLEASE do!

Thanks!

Ok right now we have close to 40 entries. If you have not sent your entry form in please do so very soon so I can have a good count by Thursday. This is very important so we can make sure we have the right turn in boxes if we have more than 50 teams. At least fax you entry form in if you know your coming and pay Friday. Thanks

Congratulations to LA Pit Member Danny Christian of Southern Exposure from Penelope, TX on his 7th Grand Championship of this season in Gonzales, LA earlier today!!  Perfect weather with 44 teams made this 9th annual cookoff for St. Jude a fine weekend for everyone involved.  Congratulations again to Danny on earning an automatic entry into the Jack Daniels World Championship this fall!
Also, congratulations to LA Pit Member Melvin Dimm on winning his second consecutive Reserve Grand Championship in Gonzales, LA today!

First I would like to think everyone for coming out and supporting St. Jude's Children's Hospital. With everyones help we were able to raise $32,000 with this event. I want to think Mr. Dennis Green and Mr Doug with the BBQ Brisket Co. for helping us by donating $16,600 dollars to our event for the kids at St Jude. They have done fund raising and auctions to raise money and they really are great people for what they do. Everyone should wake up in the morning of everyday and be blessed to have your health and do what you can for others that aren't so lucky. These kids need our help everyday so they can enjoy the rest of there lives. Also want to think Mrs. Coco for making the cake again and Mrs. Coco mother for raising $ 2,500,00 dollars by selling pralines and things during the year she works very hard as well. We also want to think T Wayne for donating a BBQ pit for our auction that made $400.00 dollars for the event. If you meet any of these people thank them for what they do. Thanks again to the IBCA and to Andy and Lynn. Thanks to ALL of our sponsors and volunteers. To the winners good luck in the future. If you have any comments or suggestions about our event please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks Sean
