So who's coming to this one? It's at a new location this year, closer to the Festival itself. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate, too (let's hope I didn't speak too soon!)!

Lynn,

We will be there.  Bayou BBQ will be teaming back up with Lil' John's BBQ for this one, under our old team name, Meat in the Middle BBQ.  We just couldn't go out like we did here last year, so we said we'd cook together again for this one.

I have a question for you, though.  My wife, Kelsie, would like to be a judge, if that would be possible.  Email me at thisisbenjy@yahoo.com for any more info on the judging.

Sean, I'm glad yall will be there too.  We had a good time cooking next to yall last year, and you're having a hell of a year so far this year.  Hope to get to talk to you some this weekend.

We'll see yall in DeQuincy!

Benjy-
Excellent! I have sent Kelsie's name and the email you gave me to the organizer, Debbie Harville - she should be getting in touch with you. Her email is debbie.harville@gmail.com

The promoter reports that as of this morning she has 17-18 registered & paid - she's afraid she's going to run out of room soon, so if you haven't registered yet, please do so ASAP!!

Congratulations to Grand Champion Sean Hebert of Big Bear BBQ and Reserve Grand Champion Melvin Dimm of Shootin' Smoke - and congratulations to ALL those who walked at this State Championship event! Kudos to Debbie Harville for a job well done - and many, MANY thanks to Shiela for all her hard work for the judging tables! (And- Andy and I won the cheesecake Ms. Mata raffled off!)

It was especially nice to see to see some new faces walking at the awards presentation.  Friends like Jeff Petkevicius, Sam Harpole, Clint Guillory, and several others got to walk when there numbers were called.  Congrats to everyone who participated and walked in DeQuincy.  Heck, the cheesecake we won is half gone already.  And that's after my wife ate some!

We had a great time this past weekend.  As usual, learned alot and had a great time with some good people.  Got my 1st call in ribs, and even though it was just 10th, it is alot better than no call at all, and for now, I'm real proud of it.  I enjoyed getting to talk to ya a good bit this weekend, Sean, and we'll see ya down the road.  Again, congrats to you.  Also, congrats to everyone who walked.  Great job by the head judges again, as usual.
