I just wanted to let you all know that we're gearing up for our 4th annual cook-off, in Ponchatoula, to be held on Oct 14th & 15th. There's $5000 in prize money and it's a State Championship. We had 47 teams, last year, and are hoping to break 50 this year.

Here's a link for more info...http://www.ponchatoulachamber.com/live-and-work.html#events. Entry form and payment can be mailed to the Chamber's address, as found on their site.

Please PM me if you have any questions.

Hope to see you there.

Up to around 48 teams...we're getting real close to filling this one up. If you want to cook it but haven't let me know, please get in touch with me.

Thanks,
Elvis

And thanks to promoters Tom Pittman and Elvis Stanga - this was a really well done event - and the weather was fantastic!  Excellent gumbo on Friday night, too! Many of the cook teams have commented to me what a great job Tom and Elvis did!

And thanks to Bridget Anderson for all her hard work in the judging area - and all the helpers!

Wanted to say thanks to all that came out and cooked our event this year! It was our first year in the park and the first year for most of the crew working with me, to put it on, but they stepped up, worked hard and took things forward without missing a beat.

Congratulations to Roadtoad's Smoke'N BBQ for GC, Smokin' Lipps for RGC and to all others who got a call!!!

I hope that everyone had a good time and we look forward to seeing y'all back next year.

Thanks to Andy & Lynn Hollerman for all their help!

Bayou Boogie...you could have had thirds if you had asked.  Wink

When the weekend rolls around, I'll post some photos.

Thanks,
Elvis

Another wonderful contest in Ponchatoula.... It brought tears to my eyes to call Danny's name as GC.  Keep it up Road Toad!
