I am pondering about buying a backwoods smoker....I would like to get some information from someone in the San Antonio area that owns one...Would possibly like to get a hands on look at one.  Let me know if you could help...

Not in the San Antonio but I do have a Backwoods Fat Boy less than a year old I would be willing to part with. I am located in the Comanche area about 165 miles North West of you.

I started my Backwoods Smoker clone last week. I have a UDS and decided it was time for a new project. The smoker was sized after the Competitor,

Cooking chamber 20X20X29 [in], with 8 cooking racks spaced 3 [in].

The build has gone good so far and has been a lesson in welding. Prior welded experience was melting rods when I was a kid in my dad?s shop.

I have the cook box welded in and finished making the water pan water tight today and have the smoke stack tacked in place. I do not have all the pictures down loaded and will post some more when I have time.
