With a deeply sadden heart I have to report that  Chris DeVries, Randy's wife, passed away yesterday - she has fought a battle with cancer for the past 8 years.  Chris will be missed by all of her friends and family.

Please keep Randy and the family in your thoughts and prayers.

God be with you Randy and if there is anything that we can do feel free to contact us.

Chris was one spunky gal who fought a hard battle, she gave me inspiration when I had cancer.  I didn't get to see her as much as I would have liked to at some of the cook offs, but when we did we had some great laughs, she and Doug it seems, shared some same haunts when they were younger and knew the same people, but never met then.
Our hearts go out to Randy and her family, and our prayers are with them.

Thanks for the kind words and fond memories of Chris.
This is the second of many long days to come I'm sure. I am in the process of putting together a Celebration of Her Life and when I get the details of the date, time and location I will post it here.

Here is the information on the Celebration for Chris. It would be our honor for those who knew us to attend.
Regards,
Randy

I would like for you to join us in a Celebration of the Life of Chris (Surrette) DeVries that will be held Thursday the 18th of June from 6-10 pm at the Ruthe Jackson Center http://www.ruthejacksoncenter.com/map.html located at 3113 S. Carrier Pkwy. Grand Prairie, TX. 75052.

The Celebration will be from 6 to 10 PM with dinner served between 7 and 8:30. A cash bar will be available all evening.

We ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to one of the following organizations in memory of Christine DeVries so that the fight against the disease that took her from us can be continued. The first listed helps with bone cancer patients. The second is the hospice organization that cared for Chris the last few weeks.

There will also be an online tribute page set up soon. It will be at http://www.tributes.com/ and friends and family will be able to go there and share memories and stories about Chris with everyone. I hope to have it up and running tomorrow afternoon. Search DeVries to find her.

I know I don't have contact information for everyone that I really need to get this to. Please forward the information to others that knew Chris so they may share as well.

Regards,
Randy DeVries

Thanks to all who made it out last night to Chris' Celebration. It is greatly appreciated.
It meant a lot to her family to see how many lives she had touched over the years.
