Edinburg ? The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce would like to invite everyone to Texas Cook?em: High Steaks in Edinburg. The Cook off will take place on Saturday, July 4th at Edinburg Municipal Park with a grand fireworks display at 9:15 pm, free children?s activities including face painting, dance contest, pony rides and more in the Kids Zone, good barbeque and music by Michael Salgado, La Sombra Reunion, Texas Heat and various other local bands for only $10 a car load.
Cook?em is sanctioned by the IBCA and is also currently accepting cooks for the following categories: T-bone steak, chicken, ribs, and brisket; over $15,000 in prize money will be awarded. Judges are also needed for each category. Interested applicants should call the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, as limited spaces are available, and everything is arranged on a first come, first serve basis. The public is invited to come out and bring their lawn chairs, and enjoy a day of fun under the sun, Texas style!
