Hi Everyone,
It's only 3 months away from the 3rd Annual Smokin' Oldies BBQ Cook-Off in Port Allen, LA.  It will be on October 10, 2009.  Same categories and turn in times, the entry form in posted in the events section on the IBCA website.  We will be doing 2 different entry fees, $75.00 for 2 categories and $125.00 for all 4 categories.  We are trying to insure that we do get 25 teams this year so we qualify again for State Championship Cook-Off.  Just wanted everyone to know we raised over $7,500.00 for Dream Day Foundation at last years festival.  I am trying to get a feel for who will be coming this year so if you can respond to this I greatly appreciate it.  Also we are looking to have something for all the cooking teams on Friday night if anyone has suggestions we would love to hear them.  Look forward to seeing everyone again this year.  Thanks,
Kathy

Talking about it.  Need to figure out timings etc. for I've never competed.  I'd wanted to last year but relo didn't go well. We are now moved and smoker is being upgraded very soon and I just have to get ready.  Grin Cool Smiley and practice a few times.

Doesn't look good for me at the moment entering.  Sad  tired I had thought about it but lots has come up in the last few weeks.  If we are in town I may try to drop by and visit however with some of you all. Put some faces with some names.  Smiley Cool

Last we heard, they have 28 teams for next weekend!!  It sounds like this is going to be a good contest.  Lynn and I are hoping right now for good weather!

EXCELLENT contest  - I think everyone had a great time! Great music, great BBQ - but I could've done without yesterday's rain! Boy, that was a loud crowd at the awards! Congrats to Grand Champion Danny Christian of Southern Exposure and Reserve Grand Champion John Zeigler of Pop's Blazin' Smokers - and to all that got their names called - at least it didn't rain for the awards!

And get well ASAP wishes go out to Ron Hill - we all missed you & Tanya!
