Whew! What an event!!! You'd think the drizzle would've put a damper on things, but, NO,  it was like no one noticed!

Congratulations to Grand Champion Ronnie Wade (Blazen BBQ) and Reserve Grand Champion Tee Wayne Abshire (Tee Wayne's Cajun Cookin') and to ALL those who walked!

Thanks to IBCA Head Judges Lynn and Andy for volunteering their Sat to pull off a great contest. The Lousiana pit is really taking off with several IBCA c/o's in LA, thanks in part to them.

Even though we had off and on rain Fri and Sat, it didn't deter the cooks, the bands or the public from participating under the huge outside pavilion. There were several food vendors with Cajun food and music thruout Fri and Sat.
Joy and Ralph did a great job taking care of cooks needs.
The judging/turn in/cooks meeting area couldn't have been better.

Congrats to all that got calls.

Put this one on your calendar for next year. It's a fun festival with lots of good Cajun music and food.

Just one thing.............what actually is..... "Roastin with Rosie"?
We didn't know, (since we are not from there) but evidently everyone in Jennings knew.  Cool

Rosie is a roseate spoonbill- that bird on the signs & flyers for the contest- the mascot of Jeff Davis Parish.  And contrary to what Andy was singing on the way over, the contest is NOT for roasting Rosie!
