my name is Matt and been wanting to get into competition steak and BBQ for some time..trying to research some good ways to get started...

Welcome Matt - hope you enjoy the forum - I would suggest that you attend an event and ask to judge.  There are not too many in the metroplex area but we are beginning to get some of the back - watch the events calendar.

thats what i did last summer ( Judge)at the Traders Village BBQ cook off....it was good too....lol...thanx
