I have read the rules a number of times and searched the website and this forum for more info to no avail.  After reading all I could find about your method of judging I still do not have a clue as to how it is set up.  The rule that comes the closest to this is I believe rule 12 where it talks about subsequent levels of judging and indicating a box may be sent to a 2nd or maybe 3rd table to be judges a 2nd or 3rd time.  What is this about?

Thanks,

Chet - I'm sorry that you are confused - we do an elimination type of judging depending on the number of teams at the event.
Example:  30 teams
The product will be tasted by 12 judges --
2 Preliminary tables with have 5 judges that will taste of 15 containers then the top 7 scores from each table will advance to the final table - where 7 to 9 new judges will taste of the product and then the highest score of course is the winner.

we use theater tickets - one is attached to the container while the cook will sign and retain the other ticket until awards are announced - we do not call out the winners by teams and until that ticket is matched no one knows who the winners are.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact me at info@ibcabbq.org
