Its that time of year, we are gearing up for the Berchmans BASH State Championship BBQ Competition.

St. John Berchmans School will hold its annual Berchmans BASH Family Day & Bar-B-Que Competition Sunday, September 27, 2009 on the ground of Schools of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau.  The event is being headlined by Acadiana?s own rising star Marc Broussard.

Festivities for the entire family begin at 10:00 a.m.  There will be children?s games and recreation for all ages, live entertainment by Road Doctor Revue (10 am ? 1 pm) followed by Marc Broussard at 1:30 pm, the ?Sweet Shop? and an IBCA sanctioned, State Championship Bar-B-Que Contest. If you would like to compete please visit www.sshcoteau.org for complete information and the online registration form.  

Come out and enjoy the weekend under the beautiful oak trees and support St. John Berchmans School.  For more information and directions to Schools of the Sacred Heart campus, please call (337) 662-5275.

As of today, 9/10/09 we have 12 teams. 
We will need 25 to make this a qualifier again this year.

This is a good contest.  I love the location under those big trees.  Everyone needs to come out to help support the kids.

We now have 16 teams registered, 25 is the magic number!  This is going to be a great event.  Come join us and spend a beautiful weekend in Grand Coteau.

This is a great event - we will not be able to make it this year but the location is beautiful - under a lot of large trees with the spanish moss drupping down

Go out and support this event if possible.

Good Morning Everyone

As of today, September 23, 2009 we have 21 teams.  If anyone is on the fence....come on over to Grand Coteau.

We will have wonderful music this year with the Road Doctor Revue and Marc Broussard.   Both of these entertainers are Fabulous.

GREAT Contest! No rain, thankfully, but it WAS hot & humid! Congratulations to Grand Champion John Ziegler of Pop's Blazin' Smokers and Reserve Grand Champion Brian Lipps of Smokin' Lipps - and to ALL that got calls!

We're having some technical difficulties sending the results in - it's either the high humidity here or those !@#$%^ blasted ants that crawled into the computer during the awards! I'll get the full results sent shortly.

I got the ants out of the computer....and a few other bugs as well!  We had 25 teams on a good weekend event.  Congrats to all that cooked some really good BBQ this weekend!  So this is what no rain feels like.....
