Bastrop is definately on.  It's the third year and 75 teams are expected. Located at Mayfest Park behind the American Legion. Several bands will entertain. This is a really fun one. Hope to see you.

I just checked with the Childrens Advocacy Center the promoters for Bastrop and they say there is a $ 4000 payout with trophys.

here is a copy of an email I recivied from Kelly see you late friday

OK, according to the event manager Martha Marshall, the prizes for each of the meat categories are:

$400    1st
$300    2nd
$200    3rd
$ 50    4th
$ 50    5th

Jalapenos, Margaritas, Beans, Pies, and Dutch Oven desserts get lesser amounts.

Which adds up to $5000 total for all the categories combined, so same as last year.  And there is no problem with a late arrival Friday or even Saturday morning, except for the spots are first-come/first-served and you might end up in the back somewhere.  Let me know if you have other questions!

It's hard to pass up with a free entry and if they have the same amount of teams as last year it will make a qualifier  Wink
